In discussion with the client the physiotherapist will decide on which treatment techniques would be most effective for their condition. These may include:
Soft tissue techniques: Massage or mobilisation of muscles, nerves, tendons or ligaments to aid healing and restore normal movement.
Joint mobilisation: Using the hands to mobilise and release stiff or painful joints.
Electrotherapy: Using ultrasound or interferential equipment to aid healing and reduce pain.
Acupuncture: The insertion of single use, fine needles to reduce pain, aid healing and induce relaxation of the muscles.
Exercises including Pilates: To improve movement and strength and restore normality to the affected body part.
Advice: Regarding your condition and what may be causing or contributing to it e.g. posture, working conditions or sporting techniques.
